Horsehair braid is a type of crinoline netting used to give structure and body to hems, hats, and sleeves. It’s one of my favorite ideas because it produces truly amazing results while being ridiculously simple to apply.

Method

Because horsehair braid trim can be scratchy and unravel, it’s best to encase it in some sort of binding. For this skirt, I simply cut a piece of selvedge from scrap fabric to bind the edge, then handsew it in place!
