DIY Cornered Tablecloth Tutorial (One-Hour Project!)
This DIY cornered tablecloth tutorial took me under an hour to sew (I used a sewing machine, but you could hand-stitch if you wanted to), and it’s a great way to upcycle an old picnic tablecloth into something fun for your kids.
For small children, I recommend measuring the table and adding 20 inches to the length and width (so you have a 10 inch margin on all four sides). Sew a straight stitch down each corner “wing,” or turn this down for a flatter seam. Fit the tablecloth to have a few inches above the chairs so that little legs won’t get caught.
Where to get your fabric!?
Use an “all-over” print so that if your material pulls a little and isn’t quite even, you won’t notice the discrepancy. If you’re looking for more great ideas to “sew or not to sew,” check out my sewing project Pinterest board.
