Start stuffing your mattress the right way out, breaking down polyester fill into small tufts if using. You want your mattress to look flat and not overstuffed, so go slowly and make sure you have stuffing in the corners to give it a good shape.

For an invisible closure, hand stitch the gap closed with a ladder stitch, or sew the gap shut with scissors.
