Making a pillow slip cover is easy, and I chose a button-on style so I could easily remove them for washing. This particular style is attractive on both sides, so you can simply flip your pillows over for a different look.
Fabric shrinks the first time it’s washed, so zig-zag stitch or serge the cut edges to avoid a huge frayed mess in the wash. Wash your fabric on the same settings as your pillow cover. Each piece will have an inch folded back from one edge, plus they’ll overlap by 1/4 so they’re square.

Should a cushion cover be smaller than the cushion?
