stuffed animal & teddy bear robe
In today’s post, you’ll find a free sewing pattern for adorable teddy bear-sized robes, as well as instructions for making miniature versions of Harry Potter characters.
I made a fleece robe for one of our Build-A-Bears a few years ago. This robe should fit all Build-A-Bear sized stuffed animals as well as non BAB teddy bears as long as they are about the same size. All pieces have a 3/8 inch seam allowance. Open up at the shoulders and press with a warm (not hot) iron.
How do you attach a collar to sewing?
3. Place the collar pieces on top of each other, right sides together, and use a fabric marker to mark the corner point of the collar.
How do you attach a collar to a dress?
Match the notches at the waist seam, shoulder seams, and collar, making sure the collar meets the start of the lapel. Pin the facing in place all the way around from hem to hem.
How much fabric do I need for a robe?
The length of the robe will determine the amount of yardage needed; I recommend purchasing at least 3 yards per garment. 1 or 2 spools of thread
How do you make a robe at home?

- Pin one side of the fabric along the lines of the sweater.
- Cut the excess fabric away.
- Fold the fabric.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the left side of your robe.
- Stitch all the pinned parts together.
How can I make my collar lay flat?
Iron the collar with a steam iron at the highest heat recommended on the label until it stays flat. Flip the shirt over and repeat ironing on the opposite side of the collar. Lightly spray starch on the collar and iron it again.
Why are collars attached first before the sleeves?
The placket sleeve does not need to be sewn to the bodice in this step; it will be joined once the collar is attached. First, attach the front and back pieces to the sleeve pieces, as shown in the picture.
