How To Sew with Faux Leather
Liz from Moments is the author of today’s post, and she is an avid faux leather sewer, so I thought it would be helpful to learn some of her tips for sewing with leather since it’s not something I do often (but would like to!).

Can I sew faux leather on my sewing machine?
Faux leather tends to stick to regular metal presser feet when stitched from the right side; instead, use a foot made of a non-stick substance like Teflonu00ae or a tractor style foot, which will move smoothly across the paper and allow you to see through it to keep track of your seam.
What kind of thread do you use to sew vinyl?

A Stitch in Time… If you’re serious about adding patches to leather (real or faux) or nylon, the only safe option is to use a needle and thread; custom iron-on patches aren’t designed for these materials. Don’t be intimidated by the prospect of sewing a patch onto a jacket.
