If you don’t have matching thread at home, pick some up while you’re fabric shopping. 1/2 meter of fabric (should be light u2013 medium light weight and drape fairly well). A serger (optional, but highly recommended u2013 I use a Janome serger).
Pattern Prep:
Lay out your fabric and cut your pattern pieces, then trim the neck and sleeves as follows: If you have a serger, serge your pattern pieces now.
Garment Construction:
We’ll start with the shoulders, then move on to the neckline and sleeve openings. Sew with a 3/8u2033 seam allowance, back tacking at the beginning and end, and hem mine the same way I did the neck and sleeve holes.
Finished Shirt:
It’s a great project for a beginner sewer or if you only have a limited amount of time; I was so impressed with the finished product that I already have plans for more shirts.
Is rayon easy to sew?
