Use hand sewing to repair holes in jeans
The corner of a pocket is often the first place you’ll notice your jeans are beginning to wear, so it’s critical to repair a hole in the back pocket before it gets too big. With the right supplies and some hand sewing, you can repair the hole.
Thread Color
The color of thread you use depends on how visible you want the repair to be; shades of gray and blue are good choices for blue jeans, with dark and light gray thread being less noticeable than dark blue thread.

2. Cut the Patch
As a patch, use one-sided fusible interfacing or a scrap of light fabric.
3. Attach the Patch
If you’re using one-sided fusible interfacing, iron it over the inside of the jeans according to the manufacturer’s instructions; a scrap of fabric can also be basted or pinned in place.

The second set of backstitch stitches on this quilt were done with a red FriXion pen, which erases quickly and easily when heated, and the final set of stitches is sewn perpendicular to the first set.
