Place an individual overlay piece on top of each individual main fabric piece, wrong side of the overlay facing the right side of the main fabric, and baste them together along the edges. Stitch any darts after they are basted together.
What is an overlaid seam?
Overlaid seams are also known as run and fell seams. Iron your first seam, keeping the fabric under the needle. Sew the pockets to the edge of the garment with the overlay and main fabric together. To sew a concealed seam, sew the seam with the right side outwards the opposite way you would normally sew a seam.
